Do you love animals? What if we told you that you could get paid for spending time and playing with all kinds of animals? Come join us at A Walk For All Seasons and become part of our pet concierge team today! We are independently owned and have had the privilege of providing top-notch care for our clients for the past 13 years and counting.
By joining our team, you can create your own flexible, semi-independent work schedule. Taking college classes? Looking for something part-time during the afternoon/evening for extra money? Looking for something to do while the kids are in school during the day? That isn’t a problem because we are a 24/7 custom pet care team that caters to the needs of our clients, thus allowing for flexible work schedules. Some of the more popular services we provide are 20 and 30-minute walks, overnight care within the client’s home, and pet taxi services.
Currently, we are looking to add more team members for full-time and part-time walks during the day and evening as well as someone who could do overnight care. An ideal candidate would need to be a well-organized animal lover who is at least 18 years of age (due to insurance purposes).
Requirements and Skills:
- Location: Our service area is: Vernon Hills, Mundelein, Highwood, Libertyville, Green Oaks, Great Lakes, Fort Sheridan, Mettawa, Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Lincolnshire, and Southeastern Gurnee. It is not mandatory that you live in or near these areas, but if you happen to reside within 15 miles, it can definitely help increase your potential income with us.
- Age: Due to insurance purposes, we require our contractors to be 18 and over.
- Animals We Care For: We care for all animals and never discriminate. Mainly we care for dogs, cats, birds, fish, small animals, and reptiles. (If you have any allergies, we can always work around that).
- Fitness: It is important that you are physically able to provide care by being able to accomplish what is asked of you during the time frame of a visit. That can include but is not limited to walking for 20 minutes, feeding, getting fresh water, etc.
- Professional Animal Care: All of our clients have scheduled visits. Some could possibly be overnight stays that cater to the animals’ independent needs. You will be required to fulfill the specific accommodations the clients have requested. During your visits, you could possibly be asked to feed or administer medication. Also, you could be tasked with collecting the garbage/recycling bins, collecting mail, bringing in packages, water plants when needed, etc.
- Driving: Having a reliable vehicle, current driver’s license, and auto insurance is required to work at A Walk For All Seasons. You will be driving in your designated area from house to house caring for the animals at multiple locations throughout the day.
- Time Management & Organization: Being punctual is extremely important as you will be on a time frame with your scheduled visits. A schedule may change quickly and you will need to be able to adapt.
- Communication Skills: Our clients like to be in contact with our team members to make sure their loved ones are being well cared for during their visit time. Our team also communicates through text and as such it is required you have a smartphone.
- Work As An Independent Contractor: You will not be an employee of A Walk For All Seasons, but an independent contractor. What that means is at the end of each year you will receive an IRS 1099 tax form, and will be responsible for paying your own taxes. Taxes are not taken out automatically from your paychecks.
- Experience: Being an animal lover is the first step to becoming part of the pet care community. We would prefer our applicants to have at least one year of pet care experience, but are open to pet enthusiasts. Prior to being hired, you will also be required to pass a background check. We do this as a service for our clients, as you will be entering their homes. We also require you to be proficient in English.
